Unlike the other stories in the 2030 Trilogy, Ethics does not seem to have a theme.

Trivia[]
- In the rough draft for Ethics, the story was supposed to follow a messiah conflict, however, the messiah conflict storyline is still considered canon and appears in flashbacks.
- Cut content from "Ethics" included: the plot idea above, Nolan visiting Josh in a hospital, and another mercenary hired by Figure named 'Grunt' who would have fought Rack and Ruin.
- 'Ethics' was author Depthcharge2030's first venture into more violent territory and the first to actually portray a character death.
